It is a sanctuary for storytellers and storykeepers and storylovers. They eat and sleep and dream surrounded by chronicles and histories and myths.

Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness — creatures of destruction — the creatures of Grimm - set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named "Dust". Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone... darkness will return. So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world", but take heed... there will be no victory in strength.

The same myths are told in every culture, and they might swap out details, but it's still the same story. It's the same story, but with a different face.

Legends are all to do with the past and nothing to do with the present.

I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?

Heros come and go, but legends are forever.

Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?

Logic will get you from A to Z; imagination will get you everywhere.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited.

When a person is lucky enough to live inside a story, to live inside an imaginary world, the pains of this world disappear. For as long as the story goes on, reality no longer exists.

It's like we talked about, you control this world. Let the pain go, let the hurt go, let the guilt go. What you are imagining right now, that world you control. That place can be as real as any pain.

Word to the wise writer: never underestimate your secondary characters! But watch them... they sneak off with stuff.

A story is a letter that the author writes to himself, to tell himself things that he would be unable to discover otherwise.

True love stories never have endings.

I want to tell a story that makes the reader always want to see what will happen next.

And it's a human need to be told stories. The more we're governed by idiots and have no control over our destinies, the more we need to tell stories to each other about who we are, why we are, where we come from, and what might be possible.

What else is a story than a lie everyone agrees on?

People aren't like numbers. They're more like letters. And those letters want to become stories. And dad said that stories need to be shared.

Well, you need the villain. If you don't have a villain, the good guy can stay home.

Today, they suffered three quarters of an hour's droning on the subject of giant wars. Harry heard just enough within the first ten minutes to appreciate dimly that in another teacher's hands this subject might have been mildly interesting.

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

Why would anyone want to be a pirate? It's the best thing there is. Wind in your back. The salty sea air. Loyal crew by your side.

The finest of pleasures are always the unexpected ones.

Not all stories speak to all listeners, but all listeners can find a story that does, somewhere, sometime. In one form or another.

Ruby: "But... why?"

Yang: "No there doesn't. Sometimes, bad things just happen Ruby!"

I just don't want to stop finding things interesting. I don't want to ever stop learning. I want to be a weird encyclopedia of bizarre knowledge.

I am not a has-been. I am a will be.

Being honest may not get you a lot of friends but it'll always get you the right ones.
